This position will lead application engineering and technical support teams ensuring quality support of our internal and external customers. Additional responsibilities include employee training, technical document review, technical support escalation, customer and partner training and resources planning. ·Ensures Service Centers globally are meeting metrics and providing quality service to customers while managing proactively warranty costs.
·Provides operational guidance to service depot for inventory, logistics and repair practices as required.

Skills Required: Requirements and Skills:

Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent military training in field of: engineering
Experience: 4 - 6 years in field of: Solar electric and renewable energy system design with strong emphasis on customer interaction, electrical design or support experience, and a working knowledge of both grid-tied and off-grid renewable energy systems.
Supervisory Experience: 2 to 4 years

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Departmental Oversight: Oversees everything related to services and products sold by the company. This currently includes but is not limited to: Commercial and Residential PV, Commercial Solar Thermal, O&M (Operations & Maintenance), Service/”Customer Service, EV-Charging, and Battery Systems.

Building a Team: Hires, manages and coaches all Sales team members.

Sales Training: fosters culture of consultative selling to customer's decision-makers at all levels.

The position works closely with the region’s construction and workforce staff, and may manage direct reports. The position reports directly to the Deputy Director.

The Project Developer must have superior communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated success in business development.

Position Description:
- Originate and develop a strong pipeline of solar projects for multi-family affordable housing, mission-aligned non-profit, and potentially for local community solar initiatives
- Serve as primary client-facing representative of GRID Alternatives and clients, with a goal of 400kW of installations in 2019
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders including affordable housing developers, public housing agencies, local governments, contractors and the utilities
- Originate projects by overseeing a robust outreach strategy, prescreening properties for eligibility, analyzing electrical usage and assessing project financing options
- Work collaboratively with construction staff to deliver GRID’s local technical assistance program, i.e., develop initial solar feasibility assessments for partners
