LA Chapter Meeting

Join Us at the April 19 Greater LA Chapter Meeting!

AGENDA

WHAT PLACE WILL BATTERY STORAGE PLAY IN THE NEAR FUTURE?

We will have two speakers.

Peter Parrish will be speaking about the market for the residential as well as the larger commercial settings, that have different value propositions. He will talk about the difficulty of guaranteeing demand reduction with just PV and the actual data that has been accumulating in that area.

Jason Groves and Milissa Marona with Sonnen, a Los Angeles based battery company will speak about the latest technologies in the battery market. What part will energy storage play in the future of solar electric, or for that matter, in the future of all utility customers. The utilities are slowly moving the “peak” periods into the late afternoon and evenings so there can be huge savings by storing electricity from solar to be used during these peak periods.

NEM 2

Still the big topic up North (Sacramento). Problem now is that most of the Muni’s are capping out and dropping out. Many due to their interpretation of what 5% is.

CCA’s / WTH? (COMMUNITY CHOICE AGGREGATION)

It’s not a new concept, but it looks like it may be getting traction. Can a small player play or is this just for the “big fish”?

VIRTUAL NET METERING…….WHAT?????

I (Ron) have been invited to join a Dept. of Energy sponsored panel to evaluate and develop ways to create a successful Virtual Net Metering program, (NEM V). I will reveal the up sides and down sides to getting involved in the concept. It can be a very complicated program, but once one has the formula, it could take off like a rocket.

LADWP

New rate changes coming.
