Sacramento Virtual Chapter Meeting
Thursday, September 3
3:30 - 5 PM
This meeting will be held via Zoom
SMUD recently commissioned a study that found the NEM credit should be reduced to 3-7 cents/kWh. The Directors of the SMUD Board, who oversee the utility, are holding two virtual hearings next month to solicit public feedback on the future of solar in SMUD. To protect NEM, CALSSA's next Sacramento chapter meeting will game plan how to make sure the Board hears from the Sacramento solar industry.
CALSSA's Sacramento chapter meeting will review:
The flaws with SMUD's NEM study, and why SMUD should adopt a strong NEM 2.0.
Other policies SMUD should adopt to spur the growth of customer-sited solar and storage (e.g. VNEM)
The steps to provide virtual public comment at SMUD's Board meetings
We will also hear from the following CALSSA staff on other policy updates:
Brad Heavner, Policy Director, will discuss the latest from the legislature and the CPUC
Scott Murtishaw, Senior Advisor, Regulatory Affairs , will discuss the latest on SGIP and storage
Thank you to our sponsors!
