Gas Clearance Rules & ESS Panel with Tesla, SimpliPhi, and Outback
Gas Clearance Rules - Utilities have been denying PTO to systems with equipment that is installed near gas meters. This has become a major hurdle and could get worse. CALSSA Policy Director, Brad Heavner, will share the latest on this development and work we're doing to counteract it.
ESS and 9540A Panel-On July 1, California adopted new codes for installing energy storage systems (ESS) in one- and two-family homes. Installation requirements for different ESS now vary based on how their batteries performed on a testing standard called UL 9540A. Join us for a virtual panel of ESS manufacturers, including Tesla, SimpliPhi, and Outback. Learn how different ESS performed on UL 9540A, allowing you to install the battery units within three feet of each other, as well as batteries' new unique installation requirements. The panel will be moderated by CALSSA's Ben Davis. Q&A to follow panel discussion.
