CALSSA Communications & Campaign Manager
Job Description

About CALSSA

CALSSA is California’s oldest and largest clean energy business group. We represent 550 contractors, developers, manufacturers, financiers, and other businesses involved in onsite energy at residential, commercial, and agricultural sites. We work to improve the policy landscape for solar and batteries, help our members understand rules and regulations, and foster interaction among industry participants.

Job Description

The primary focus of the Communications and Campaign Manager is to build awareness of CALSSA, our members, and our mission. This person builds political capital by expanding the circle of stakeholders who know our members and our issues. Above all, this person connects the dots between who we are, the work our members do every day, and the influence we have in Sacramento.

Our member companies install solar and batteries in every corner of California. They employ local workers, serve local customers, and have real stories about what energy policy means on the ground. This role connects the dots between who we are and the value we deliver to the state’s clean energy and affordability goals.

The top goals of the Communications and Campaign Manager are to mobilize member companies to be engaged in the political process, and to get exposure with decisionmakers for CALSSA’s policy positions and membership. That means turning members into constituents their legislators hear from directly, turning our policy work into stories that reach beyond the usual audience, and making sure that when a key vote or decision comes up, our members get involved.

The Communications and Campaign Manager reports directly to the Executive Director, working closely with the Policy Director and the entire CALSSA team.
