Californians reject roll back of solar net metering in poll

PVTech - A new poll indicates that 80% of Californians are against proposals from utilities to roll back the state's solar net metering programme, which compensates residential rooftop owners for the surplus energy they export back into the grid.

Hundreds Protest PG&E's Proposal In California

Solar Industry Magazine - Hundreds of people gathered at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) headquarters to protest a recent proposal from the utility that would reduce solar incentives. Along with other public utilities, PG&E recently proposed a combination of fees and lower net-metering rates.

Central Valley Business Times - A group of 16 farms and agricultural businesses is urging the California Public Utilities Commission to continue solar net metering, despite pressure from PG&E, Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric to restrict it.

Inland energy efforts get legislative boost

Press-Enterprise - Gov. Jerry Brown dramatically increased California’s climate-change goals on Wednesday, committing the state to use renewable energy for half its electricity and to make existing buildings twice as energy-efficient in 15 years.
